Western Australia
At the March meeting we discussed the RCPA QAP WA subgroup reports to see if there are significant differences between major platforms for labs in WA. Cortisol is one assay which we will be comparing with samples coming out to labs in the near future.
One of the key projects for the year for our QC subcommittee is to collect data on reference ranges across WA as we work with the AACB (and follow the lead of the UK and US) towards reference interval harmonization. A survey will be coming around soon to all labs to collect data on reference intervals for adult male and female general chemistry analytes.
The Western Australian QC Sub-Committee invites those interested in participating in QC projects, to come along and discuss your concerns and ideas with colleagues from other laboratories. If there are any issues you would like us to discuss, please contact us and we will be happy to add it to the agenda. Guests are always welcome to attend.
