Help create consensus in severity of harm scales - Quality control strategy
The data collected from this survey aims to develop a standardised scale for severity of harm for unreliable laboratory results. This in turn would be part of the Bio-Rad laboratory QC design toolkit utilised to minimise harm to a patient.
An initial survey has already been conducted on a subset of analytes, and the results have been published. The next step is to broaden participation and the scope of analytes reviewed from Australian pathologists to ensure the scale reflects diverse perspectives and also to capture the thought leadership that resides in Australia.
Laboratory professionals, pathologists, clinical chemists, and clinicians are invited to contribute to this important initiative and help develop a more evidence-based and harmonised approach to risk assessment in laboratory medicine.
